Cindy Jones Therapy offers convenient text‑message and e‑mail notifications for:

  • Appointment reminders and schedule changes

  • Important practice announcements

  • Educational resources and wellness tips

These communications are free of charge from our side, although your mobile carrier may apply its standard messaging rates. Please check with your carrier for details on any fees, taxes, or surcharges that may apply.

Your Consent Is Required

Before we can send you any text or e‑mail, you must provide written consent. A separate consent form will be presented for signature at the time of your initial consultation (or can be completed electronically beforehand). By signing, you acknowledge that you:

  • Understand the types of messages we may send

  • Agree to receive non‑urgent, non‑clinical information via the chosen channel(s)

How to Opt‑Out (At Any Time)

​You may revoke your consent whenever you wish. To

stop future messages, simply:

  • Reply “STOP” to any text message you receive, or

  • Email us at cindyjonesemail@pm.me with the subject line “Unsubscribe”

You will receive a confirmation within 24 hours that your request has been processed.

Security & Privacy Notice

  • No Protected Health Information (PHI) will be transmitted through unsecured text or e‑mail. Any clinical details will be shared only via our encrypted patient portal.

  • Texts and e‑mails travel over public networks and are not encrypted. They could be intercepted, altered, or stored in backups beyond our control.

  • We recommend deleting each message as soon as you have reviewed it to reduce the chance of unauthorized exposure.

Emergency Disclaimer

These messages are not intended for urgent or emergency medical situations. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Minor Clients

If the client is under 18 years old, a parent or legal guardian must sign the consent form before any electronic communication is sent.

Your Rights Under State Law

 

  • California (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information.

  • Texas (TDPSA): In the event of a data breach affecting your communications, we will notify you as required by law.

  • Florida (FIPA): We employ reasonable security measures to protect your personal data.

  • Michigan & Wisconsin: Communications are retained for no longer than 180 days, unless a longer period is required by law.

Message frequency may vary depending on the type of communication. For example, you may receive up to 10 SMS messages per week related to your appointments/billing,
etc.

Example:
"Message frequency may vary. You may receive up to 10 SMS messages per week regarding your scheduling and inquiries from Cindy Jones Therapy."

Please note that standard message and data rates may apply, depending on your carrier’s pricing plan. These fees may vary if the message is sent domestically or internationally.

  • By submitting an online form
