Therapy for Elders
It can be a struggle to navigate our 3rd trimester of life, especially if we have ended up somewhere different than expected. Life has it's twists and turns and understanding them and yourself can help make the most of each day you have as you age.
How Did I End Up Here So Fast and Why Is It So Hard to Be Old?
Life goes by quickly and suddenly you can find yourself in a completely different place than you intended to be. Loneliness, Chronic Health Issues, Grief and Loss, Family Rifts, Late Life Changes can deeply affect your quality of life....and you never asked for any of them to occur.
How Can Therapy Help Me Navigate Being an Elder?
Working through late-in-life issues is a specialty that is best applied by someone in the same demographic....which I am. I am a high-mileage elder with a certification in Geriatric (sorry, bad word, I know) Mental Health and experience in working with elders who are struggling with things in life they never thought they'd face. Late life loss, divorce, feuding family members, new and chronic health issues combined with the epidemic of loneliness that affects those of us that are older are all real. I can assist you in sorting through the things you face and helping you not only choose the path you'd like to take but also help you build tools (and sometimes the gumption) to make those things occur.
Where You Want To Be
Aging with an understanding of how you want to live all your days from here on in leads to a fuller, happier and more confident life. Aging will never be easy but aligning with your values and knowing your goals makes life more intentional... and that creates a roadmap for you to make it all happen.
